Robert Pye trained at Rycotewood College for two years and then worked alongside as a Cabinet Maker in the New Forest until 1993.

After taking an intensive antique furniture restoration course at West Dean College, West Sussex, he gained a British Antique Dealers Association Diploma in the Restoration and Conservation of Antique Furniture. 

After finishing the course he started work for a BAFRA restorer where he remained for approximately five years. Since then he has worked for three other established restorers, two in the Cotswolds area and one in London. In 2001 he set up Pye Antiques Restoration.

Robert Pye is a Full Accredited Member of BAFRA, the British Antique Furniture Restorers' Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Carpenters (FIOC).
